A Sign the World is Coming to an End...


I ordered a salad at a restaurant today. A legit salad...lettuce, strawberries. mandarin oranges, grilled chicken, dressing on the side. I must admit it was delicious. Crazy, I know. I never thought I would see the day, either. Anyway...felt I had to share this pretty unbelieveable news. Pictoral proof is provided...I knew you wouldn't believe me without it.

    Everyday I get 4 or 5 e-mails from Men's Health that are extremely helpful. My favorites are "Eat This Not That" which shows you what the healthiest option is at restaurants, fast food joints, even gas stations. You'll be surprised what you learn.

    One thing I learned was that a protein heavy breakfast (think turkey bacon, eggs, and a protein shake) will keep you full throughout the day reducing cravings. I've been doing that since July of last year and it's working great. I used to have a protein bar or a few cereal bars every morning, but found myself starving again by 10am.

    You'll also get a list of power foods. I try to eat all of the following each day. A handful of almonds (raw), oatmeal (quaker weight control), grapefruit juice, tomatoes, carrots, light yogurt, spinach. I've also cut cravings for sweets by having a glass of chocolate almond milk after dinner.
